Recently the series was officially removed from the Netflix platform. Several fans followed the series for nine seasons and were captivated by the funny, melancholic, sad experiences and moments of Ted, Robin, Lily, Barney, and Marshall. Therefore, we have created this article to show you the 10 lessons that How I met your mother left us.
A good friend will always be there with you.
True friends are there for better or worse. Marshall always knew what to do with his friends when they were not having a good time. He was within the most challenging moments of the protagonists and even knew how to wait for Lily to fulfill her dream. Thus, Marshall teaches us that a true friend will always be with you through thick and thin.
Be patient, and the “best” will come soon.
For nine seasons, we have seen Ted always looking for the woman of his dreams, but he lived his experiences and adventures as a bachelor, and his romantic moments, like when he met Robin, his love at first sight. But, what he teaches us is that even though we want something soon, there are times when we will have to be patient for the best to come into our life.
It is important to accept help and share difficulties.
The characters in the series have always helped each other in different situations, which shows us – everyone in this world is not alone. We can cope with difficulties by asking for help and relying on others. It’s important not to overburden yourself. We can take help in different ways, from relatives, friends, and professionals. We can hire a tutor or use essay writing websites if we don’t fully understand a topic or have difficulties writing texts; we can take some private lessons in calligraphy if we want to master this hobby.
Never give up on your dreams.
Proof of that is Lily. She has always been fond of art, and although she was upset at times, she always had the support of her friends. She dreamed of being in the art world, of making a living at it, and after several seasons, she achieved her dream. This is a lesson to believe that dreams come true, but remember that we must do our work if we want that to come true.
Create your “happy ending” that you think you deserve.
Ted gets Robin’s love; Lily lives happily in the art world; Barney, despite being a womanizer, loves his daughter; that’s how each of the main characters looks for a way to be happy and make the ones they love so glad. So, it always shows that you can build what you want and believe that you deserve that “happy ending” thanks to your effort and dedication.
The person who loves you will love you with your flaws.
Probably, you want to pretend that you are perfect for that person, but what you will provoke is that he or she will notice your flaws and turn away from you, but if he or she loves you just the way you are, he or she will love you with your weaknesses and will try to help you correct them.
Accepting challenges.
How I met your mother has shown us that accepting challenges is part of growing as a person. If we notice, the series’s main characters took on some challenges, like Robin, who had to work with a monkey to become the best reporter. Assuming them will help us know the result and if it was worth it. If you didn’t do well in the challenge, you would have gained experience, so you won’t make a mistake again.
Nothing good happens after 2 am.
One episode of the series was called “Nothing Good Happens After 2 am,” It made it clear to us that things can be worked out calmly. Unfortunately, Ted had to learn this lesson and know that something resolves better and without haste, and not go out desperate at 2 am, as you can make fatal mistakes.
Commit to what you truly want.
That’s the key to getting what you want. Ted got the love of the girl of his dreams, Barney became a good father to his daughter, and Robin became the best professional, among others. This excellent teaching shows us how to achieve or get what we want. We must know how to commit to them, which will involve hard work and effort.
Love will come into your life.
How I met your mother teaches us to value love and recognize that love will come into your life. Ted was always looking for the love of his life, but he didn’t realize that she was very close to him, and since he knew it, he looked for ways to conquer her and fulfilled it. Similarly, a little girl came into Barney’s life, and he promised to take care of her forever. This teaches us that a person will come into our lives who will make us believe that love does exist.
The series that entertained us for nine seasons is no longer on Netflix’s streaming platform, but it has left us 10 lessons that show us that we can apply them in life.
