Remove weeds, leaves and dead plants
First of all, it is of course important that all weeds are removed. Especially after a period of cold there is a good chance that there are weeds and moss in the joints of the tiles. By removing this, wiping away the leaves and removing any dead plants from the garden, it immediately looks a bit better. Just make sure you remove the weeds in the right way, otherwise your back will hurt. The last thing you want is to have to lie on the couch for days afterwards because you hurt your back.
Removing and refurbishing the furniture in the garden
The furniture also has to suffer, so it’s time to get it out of the stable. Wipe down tables and chairs with soapy water so that they are completely clean again. Do you have wooden furniture or, for example, a garden shed, and is the paint weathered? Then it might be a good idea to fix this immediately. If you don’t do this, it will probably irritate you all summer. And with thirty degrees outside, not many people are waiting to start painting a garden shed.
New flowers and plants
Time for color in the garden! Go to the garden center and pick out some beautiful plants or flowers. You can of course also opt for flower bulbs, but most should have been in the ground by now. you can buy these, but they will only be released next year. With plants, pay close attention to whether they are annual or perennial plants.
Dressing up the garden
Finally, it is of course time to decorate the garden. You can create the necessary atmosphere with some nice, handy lighting. Make sure that there is sufficient lighting along the path, so that you can see where you are walking in the dark. Do you have a permanent place where the furniture is? dress it up nicely. For example, think of a beautiful outdoor canvas on the fence or perhaps under the canopy. These posters are now available in all kinds of different sizes, so even the garden door can be provided with a poster. Then place a few more beautiful pots with flowers, and provide nice cushions in the chairs. Do you have a terrace? Then you can often just leave these outdoor cushions.
