Singapore has several expatriate-friendly clinics that offer English-speaking doctors. Your initial first port of call for any medical problem would be your GP (General Practitioner/family doctor). As there are many types of injury to the wrist, it is not possible to offer a specific recommendation, and you will need to visit your family doctor for an assessment.

Your GP would be able to guide you on whether you require further investigations such as X-rays, MRI scans, or other forms of medical imaging. He/she may refer you to one of the following institutions:

    • Singapore General Hospital (SGH)
    • National University Hospital (NUH)
    • Mount Elizabeth Hospital
    • KK Women’s and Children’s Hospital (KKH)
    • Rapid Physio Care
    • Health Promotion Board (HPB) Clinics
      • Singapore Sports Clinic
      • 8.Health Xchange
      • Singapore General Hospital’s Specialist Outpatient Clinic at Joo Koon
      • Singapore National Eye Centre (SNEC)

    Singapore General Hospital (SGH)

SGH is a teaching hospital and has one of the largest medical departments in Singapore. It has an orthopedic department that provides musculoskeletal care from diagnosis to treatment. Their services include but are not limited to: diagnostics (MRI / X-ray / CT scan), non-surgical treatments (ultrasound, physiotherapy), surgical treatments, including joint replacement surgery for the wrist.

  1. National University Hospital (NUH)

The orthopedic department at NUH has an excellent reputation for its musculoskeletal care – offering diagnosis and non-surgical management of conditions such as acute ligament injuries to the wrist. NUH also has an excellent reputation for its joint replacement surgery services.

  1. Mount Elizabeth Hospital

Mount Elizabeth Hospital is characterized by its sleek and efficient design to provide patients with a calm environment. They provide treatment for common musculoskeletal problems such as sprains/fractures to the wrist. Their doctors are experienced in managing complicated cases that may require surgery.

  1. KK Women’s and Children’s Hospital (KKH)

Established in 2001, KKH aims to be a leader in women and children’s healthcare. They have an orthopedic department that offers diagnosis and treatment for musculoskeletal conditions affecting the wrist. Treatment options include minimally invasive surgery.

  1. Rapid Physio Care

Rapid Physio Care is a private physiotherapy practice that provides assessment and treatments for injuries to the wrist. They have expertise in evaluating injuries to the wrist and may offer MRI scans within their clinic. When you’re asking where to seek treatment for wrist pain in Singapore, you may visit Rapid Physio Care.

  1. Health Promotion Board (HPB) Clinics

HPB runs various clinics across Singapore which provide basic medical services such as flu vaccinations and diabetes screening services. These clinics may have a physiotherapy department that offers MRI scans if required. Treatment for wrist injuries will be provided by the medical staff at the respective clinic.

  1. Singapore Sports Clinic

The Singapore Sports Clinic treats sports injuries and has an orthopedic department that offers diagnoses for sprains/fractures to the wrist. Treatment options include physiotherapy or injection treatments.

8.Health Xchange

HealthXchange is a private online platform that allows users to compare prices on healthcare services provided by different providers and to book appointments with doctors. As the platform is relatively new, currently, only a limited number of orthopedic surgeons are listed on HealthXchange. You can use this service to find out who is accessible for an appointment regarding your wrist problems.

  1. Singapore General Hospital’s Specialist Outpatient Clinic at Joo Koon

Singapore General Hospital’s specialist outpatient clinic provides a one-stop service for the diagnosis and treatment of musculoskeletal problems. It is considered a “one-stop-shop” for assessing and treating wrist injuries. The surgeons at the outpatient clinic have expertise in wrist fracture care, so some patients may be able to start their treatment there.

  1. Singapore National Eye Centre (SNEC)

The orthopedic department at SNEC is known for diagnosing and treating a range of musculoskeletal problems affecting the wrist. Some patients may be able to start their treatment there if it is required. They also offer hand surgery services such as carpal tunnel surgery.

In conclusion, it would be best to seek treatment at a hospital such as the rapid Physio Care or Singapore General Hospital’s Specialist Outpatient Clinic at Joo Koon, where you can enjoy access to multiple specialties in one place.
